Hi Mustangs - Big week ahead!

We had a blast last Thursday at "Whacky Relay Practice" with nearly all of our team there (see pictures below!)

A couple of quick notes:

The Oneale's are bringing snacks for Friday and Saturday (THANK YOU!!!) Swimmers - brings chairs to sit in or soft blankets. Sitting on concrete isn't good for you.

Good luck to our Mustang Swimmers - I can't wait to see you have a big week!!

3 EAGLE 5A DISTRICT CHAMPIONS CROWNED TONIGHT!

District Championship Meet
October 24th, 2017

Mustangs,

There is so much good news to share, I'm not sure where to start.   So here goes.....

EAGLE BOYS took 2nd place at Districts tonight - INCREDIBLY strong performance!   Best we've done in many, many years.
EAGLE GIRLS took 3rd place at Districts tonight - AWESOME job!  (We lost to second place Rocky by only 2 POINTS.  We'll get 'em at State!)

We got TEAM TROPHIES handed to us tonight for both Boys and Girls!

------------------------------------------------------------------

DISTRICT CHAMPIONS

Eagle has not had a girl District Champion in any race since 2012.  We have not had a boy District champion in any race since 2002 (15 years!)    Tonight - we broke BOTH of those droughts.

  • Haylee Buyers - District Champ in the 100 Back!    She buried the competition, winning by a second and a half!
  • Carson Sargent - District Champ in the 100 Breast!   Carson put his best time ever (1:06.00) and beat #2 by almost a second!
  • Boys 200 Free Relay - District Champs!     Cody DeHaas, Michael Carter, Carson Sargent and Austin Groeniger - our four Sr. Boy Captains dropped their time by 2 seconds and took home the Gold!

That is 3 races Eagle won the District Title tonight - how proud are we of these Mustangs?
Coach A and I are P R O U D of you all.

------------------------------------------------------------------

And there's more to be excited about...... (Top 3 finishes):

  • Emery Oneale qualfied for State!!!  It's a good thing we waited to order those shirts.  Emery's face was priceless tonight when she made it!
  • Amelia Buyers finished Top 3 in the 200 IM.   Smiley is only a Freshman and already top 3! (Both girls ahead of her are SENIORS)
  • Cody DeHaas  finished Top 3 in the 200 IM.    Drift poured it ON to nudge his way on to the medal stand
  • Carson Sargent finished #2 in the 50 Free.   I called him Superman tonight - give the man a red cape!
  • Haylee Buyers finished #2 in the 100 Fly.     One of the best races of the night - Colorado was like a machine out there!
  • Girls 200 and 400 Free Relays both finished #2 tonight.       Haylee, Amelia, Cora Wells and Sydney Christensen want to knock Boise out of #1 at State!!
  • Boy 400 Relay - Cody, Carson, Junior and Austin - 2nd place!! Time to podium at State!

And a special shout out to our Relays who really stepped up for us tonight and qualified our Medley Relays for State (got us IN with a top 8 finish):   Sophia, Hannah, Sydney E., Luke, Cole, along with those mentioned above - Nice job in the qualifying relays!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Congratulations to everyone who wrapped up their season tonight.   We are excited to see you at Thursday's Whacky Relay practice (6:30pm), the State Championship Parade (Saturday, Nov. 4th), and The Banquet (Nov. 16th).     State Swimmers - we will see you Wednesday at 6:30pm for practice.    It is going to be a lot of fun finishing strong!

Again.....Boys #2 at District, Girls #3  (21 teams).   ðŸ‘Š ðŸ˜Š

Proud of you,
Coach John
